Know Before You Go Series: First Time Abroad

Join Penn Abroad, CAPS, and the Greenfield Intercultural Center for an interactive and engaging session for students preparing to go abroad for the first time. Facilitators will lead a session that will give students the tools and skills for a successful first experience abroad. Topics to be explored will include: the cultural adjustment process, how to prepare mentally and physically, and tips for maintaining a healthy life balance abroad. Hear from other first-time former study abroad participants who will share their experiences from abroad and offer advice. All students preparing to work, travel volunteer, or study abroad for the first-time are invited to attend! RSVP to Sheena at assist@pobox.upenn.edu.

Are you excited for traveling and new experiences? Want to meet other students who’ve been abroad? Come to this interactive workshop to explore more about identity and the ways in which you may experience the culture you are entering, while thinking about the ways in which the culture may experience you. Hear from former study abroad participants who will share their experiences from abroad and offer advice. Know Before You Go Series Women Abroad: Tools and Tips for the Prepared Traveler

Join Penn Abroad and the Penn Women’s Center at an interactive and engaging workshop for women going abroad. Facilitators will lead a session that will empower women with tools and skills to prepare them for a successful experience abroad. Topics to be discussed will include: gender role expectations, healthy relationships, and reproductive/sexual health. All women who are planning to work, travel, volunteer, or study abroad are invited to attend this important session! Food and refreshments will be served.
