Upcoming November Events at Sansom!

Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010: Community Service Opportunities at Penn
Michael Murray Lounge, 7 – 8 PM
Representatives from Penn’s Civic House — Sam Ribnick and Katie McCabe — will talk to residents about the various opportunities to get involved with our local community. This will be an informative and interactive session for those who are interested in civic engagement and want to meet others who also want to make a difference!

Continuing Series every Sunday: Salsa!
Benjamin Lounge, 5:30 – 6:30 PM, Oct. 17 through Nov. 21
Those who have already paid for Garincha Hilaire’s Salsa class —- don’t forget to be in Benjamin Lounge Sunday nights at 5:30 PM till Nov. 21st. Continuing Series every Tuesday: Baron-Baptiste Power-Vinyasa Yoga
Benjamin Lounge, 7 – 8:30 PM, Sep. 14 through Dec. 7
A 90-minute class led by Lt. John Wylie. Designed to strengthen, lengthen and relax. A strong workout! You can purchase a yoga mat at the class for only $10. Cost: $7 per class. Questions? Ask Alison <aweltner@vet.upenn.edu>

Continuing Series every Thursday:  Massages
Benjamin Lounge; 8 – 10 PM
Massages are relaxing and beneficial! Massages at Sansom are also convenient and affordable! A licensed, professional massage therapist [Marie Gee from Mobile Massage Team] will offer a massage service every week! COST: ONLY $1 per minute! Appointments must be made online [click here] and there is a 5-minute minimum. 60-minute massages will get a 10% discount. Tips are not included in the $1/minute rate and are highly encouraged. Halloween at Penn!

 
Halloween Events All day Friday!
 

Various agencies at Penn have planned all sorts of fun events for you —- a classic movie screening, traditional foods, a costume party and more! —- so join the Penn community as we celebrate Halloween all day Friday!
  • Phantom Phright Phest at the Houston Bistro featuring cookies and cider from 12 – 2 PM
  • Phantom Pizza Combo featuring two slices of pizza + side shaker salad + fountain drink for ONLY $5 at the Houston Market from 5:30 – 7 PM
  • Penn Student Agencies Mixer: Stop by refreshments and Penn apparel at a discounted price! Irvine Cafe ’58 from 4:30 – 8 PM
  • Office of Student Affairs Mixer: Join in the celebrations of the Office of Student Affairs. Light refreshments and food will be served! Golkin Room in Houston Hall from 11:30 AM – 1 PM. 
  • Master Class with Peter Krasinski on Music in the Silent Film (with a demonstration on the 11th largest pipe organ in the world!) at the Main Hall in Irvine Auditorium (3401 Spruce Street) from 4:45 – 5:45 PM
  • FREE Silent Movie Screening: The Phantom of the Opera Watch this timeless classic with live accompaniment by Peter Krasinski on the 10,719-pipe Curtis Organ in the Main Hall of Irvine Auditorium from 7 – 9:30 PM
  • President Amy Gutmann’s Halloween Party: Dress up in creative costumes (or not!) and join President Gutmann on Wynn Commons between 5:30 – 6:30 PM this Friday! 

           Also, though not a Penn program, the Rotunda Theater on 40th and Walnut is showing the classic horror movie, Nosferatu, and having live music during it. This Friday! Only 5 dollars! 7pm! I’ll be there!
